History & Origin: Native to the rocky cliffs of Oaxaca, Mexico, this legendary species was discovered by Alfred Lau in the late 20th century and remains iconic worldwide.
Care & Maintenance Guide:
- Sun / Lighting: Prefers bright indirect light or gentle direct morning sun to maintain its thick white farina without scorch.
- Watering: Water very carefully from below only when completely dry; moisture trapped on leaves causes farina loss and rot.
- Soil Type: Extremely gritty, quick-drying substrate containing mostly inorganic coarse gravel or pumice.
- Nutrients & Fertilization: Fertilize minimally; feed diluted succulent food once a year in spring.
